My Anglo Garden Kittens - foster home needed urgently

Derryn Brokensha looks after the feral cats that live in the Anglo American office area in central Jhb. This weekend the adult cats and the 4.5 month old kittens will be trapped and taken to a vet to be sterilised. Derryn will return the adult cats and continue feeding them. However, for the 6 kittens she is urgently looking for a foster home. They are semi-tame in that she can stroke them and they come to her and they really deserve to be given a chance in a loving home rather than being returned to live in the middle of town. Please see Derryn's email below.

Please, if you know of anyone who can foster these 6 kittens so that we can home them, PLEASE let me, or Derryn, know. If we can get them into a foster home this weekend that would be ideal since they then won't need to be re-trapped. They are beautiful little ones - there are two grey and white kittens, 2 black and white kittens and 2 black kittens. Once they are in foster care we can have photos taken and find them loving homes.

My contact number is 074 1063 500.

Derryn's contact number is 082 809 0629.

Foster for mommy cat, Pta

I have just heard that some senseless people have moved out of their complex leaving behind their pregnant cat who is being chased by all the other residents. The chap who is feeding her cannot take her in as he has dogs and he is very worried about what will happen to this sweet Mom and her babies.

If anyone is prepared to foster this poor girl and let her have her babies and raise them in a safe place please contact me, as a matter of urgency on 0825704029 or cyndal@icon.co.za

 Gorgeous champagne tom, Pta

Gert very kindly responded to a mail I sent out a while ago about an injured cat on a construction site. He has now even more kindly taken responsibility for finding him a new home, since he has already rescued too many cats to keep this one as well. This is a complete lover-boy: all he needs is someone to love who will love him in return. Are you not perhaps that someone?

Region : Durban – owner will ship countrywide for a super home or foster facility.

These cats are fostered by us currently, due to their owners not finding a suitable home for them before moving into a no-pets environment, however we are not in a position to keep them for very long. We need to home them urgently to a loving foster ‘parent’ or forever home. They are both neutered and healthy as far as we can ascertain.

GILLY (URGENTLY LOOKING FOR A LOVING HOME)

This special girl has been through so much and is now in need of someone who will be willing to give her special care and a very loving home.

Please forward Gilly’s story to all your contacts, so we can help her find her forever home.

GILLY’S STORY:

“Gilly” a 6 month old little girl was brought into FORA a month ago with her leg broken in 4 places (2 breaks in the Tibia, the hock and the foot) and horrendous wounds to her head and neck. A loving gentle girl who since a little baby has only known hardship. According to the two vets who examined her the leg was broken 4 months back and never treated, we cannot even try to imagine the pain this kitty went through. Her injuries to her face were new injuries and really bad the sores ran from under her chin and neck up into her ears and eyes and only once shaved did we see the extent of her condition. The leg has set over the months and cannot be fixed, amputation being an option but due to her using the leg as a crutch, not being in pain (any longer) it was decided that the leg would be left as is. She is loving, playful but sleeps and rests a lot. We are appealing to anyone that can give Gilly a quite home now that she has recovered where she can live a comfortable peaceful life with plenty of love and good food. Please we cannot let this little girl go back to the shelter she is extremely scared of other cats, she is not afraid of small dogs but would have to be protected as she cannot defend herself and is very slow. Gilly would live quite comfortably with a small garden or in a flat where she did not have to go too far and had company. She is very affectionate and purrs loudly when you tickle her tummy and ears. Gilly has been sterilised, inoculated and de-wormed. A home check will be done to ensure her safety and that she is well loved.

Abandoned and abused cats seeking a good home (Pta)

The striped, grey cat (in the first photo) is just a bit over two years of age and sterilised. For the biggest part of his short life he was the pet of residents in the Home but was left behind when they moved. They arranged with the people who moved into their flat to take care of him. This did not happen and he was literally kicked out of the flat. He was also kicked a few times by one of the residents and is now quite wary of strangers. Mara, whom the cats are very comfortable with, feeds him along with another ginger cat (second photo) every evening. The semi feral, ginger cat is approximately the same age and also sterilised. Mara is concerned that if anything happens to her there will be no one taking care of these cats. She is also away from the Home for long periods and struggles to find someone else to feed the cats.

Anyone who is interested to adopt these cats is welcome to contact me. Please take note that prospective owners will be screened properly and there will be follow-up visits.

Thank you for caring

BigBoy - "Nursing home" needed for special cat

BigBoy has been in my colony since I took over from the Berry's almost two years ago. A while ago he was diagnosed with Feline Aids, but as he not a fighter, in fact a very laid back gentleman who gets along well with his colony and always the first to greet me cheerfully at my car when I arrive, I decided to keep and eye on him and take him for regular check ups. As his tummy tends to swell after a meal, which I have always put down to greediness, I had him admitted to hospital for a check up.

I was devastated yesterday to learn from Dr Visser that in addition to his Aids and a hernia, with both of which he has coped without showing any distress, and according to his vet, he can still live with, he has tested positive for diabetes and cannot go back to the colony as he will need insulin 2xdaily and 12 hourly special meals every day (which would do his hernia the world of good as he tends to stuff himself to bursting point at his evening meal)

I know that euthanasia will have to be an option but perhaps there is someone special who is prepared to take on this dear gent, who will keep him strictly indoors or in a cattery and nurse him approprately. I am prepared to supply the insulin and his diabetic food but would also need to be sure that he never strays from his new place of safety.

BigBoy is presently in hospital and I need to make a decision regarding his future within a day or two.

ANIMALS AT CLAW DESPERATELY SEEKING GOOD HOMES WITH GOOD PEOPLE WHO CARE

Please request more pics if you are interested or look at http://www.facebook.com

Good day to all of you

CLAW-community led animal welfare is based in Roodepoort and provides veterinary treatment for impoverished communities, and ALSO takes in abandoned or ill-treated animals and finds them new homes

You can read all about them in the flyer attached

WE ARE URGENTLY SEEKING HOMES FOR ALL OF THE ANIMALS WHOSE PICTURES HAVE BEEN ATTACHED

The most urgent cases here are the cats and kittens that need to be homed A.S.A.P so that the cage space is open for other needy animals that may need medical treatment or have been either abandoned or neglected and ill-treated.

We also do not like to confine animals to small cages for longer than is absolutely necessary, kittens need to run and pounce!

At this stage CLAW urgently needs some more cage space to open up as it is in fact an animal hospital, not a shelter, and we are very concerned about some of the cats and kittens, that have been there for several weeks now. There are also a few puppies and many dogs that have been awaiting good homes for many months. We have tried to find all of them good homes but have had no luck thus far...I have more pictures of the dogs which i can email upon request.

But is is always advisable to go there and have a look at all of the needy animals personally

Please pass this urgent plea on to all of your contacts so that we are able to find them all loving homes

If you are interested in adopting

1. They charge a small once-off fee which includes the animal's sterilization as well as all of their vaccinations
2. You can adopt more than one animal if you wish
3. Contact Saskia or Jennifer 011 763 1638 - preferably after lunch time as the clinic is very busy in the mornings treating and feeding all of the animals, or
4. Contact me, Tracy Fenton, 083 297 3924 or tracyfenton29@gmail.com
5. There are two maps attached , one of them contains co-ordintates as well
6. If you need directions feel free to call the clinic or myself
7. CLAW is open on Saturdays

Please contact me with any further queries regarding this and thank you all so kindly for reading this and passing it on

Tortie & Squirrel

This is Squirrel, the male black kitten and his sister, the tortoiseshell.

They are very special kittens because they and their mother, Coco, were rescued after both their human parents died and they were left to fend for themselves.

They are 10 weeks old, have had their injections and have an ID booklet.

They are both very affectionate and playful.

Apart from these two we have every other colour & age available, from 4 weeks old (can only go to a home when 8 weeks); 12-16 weeks old; teenagers 11-12 months (no kitten stage to go through) and older. The majority of the older cats have been abandoned in Complexes, again every shape, age and
size.

If you have recently lost your beloved pet please consider one of these cats. Please, if you can find a place in your heart and home for any of these mentioned above please let us know and we will send you photos of them. We must find homes.

Please distribute this email to anyone who may have an interest in giving a home to a cat/s.

CatPals kittens and cats for adoption (Pta)

Simba (+ 2 years old) was rescued by a CatPals member from a parking lot. That night (4 January 2010) two kittens were born. The next day she went to her foster mother and the following night another two babies were born. Simba is very thin, she has stunning round bright green eyes and a very glossy coat. Usually we sterilise the mother cat and take her back to where she comes from. However in this case we would like to save her from having to go back because she has so much love to give and needs a family. If you have a place in your home please give her a chance at happiness.

Fortunately two of Simba’s babies were adopted and now these two beautiful tabbies are also looking for a home. (born 5 January 2010)

Please contact Willena at 082 339 5218

if you are interested in adopting any of the kittens.

This kitten was rescued at a school in Lyttelton, soaking wet and very scared. After two weeks she started to change into an inquisitive, playful and energetic little cat.

This beautiful boy is a stray, rescued by one of our CatPals members. He is very shy and likes to hide in our closets, but is a real sweetie-pie.

Looking for Burmese or choc Siamese kitten

Hi there,

I am from Botswana and I am looking for a Burmese or choc Siamese kitten. I am not looking for a registered kitten and don’t mind a cross. WE are a family of great animal lovers and live on a lovely farm in Botswana were the kitten would have a wonderful life with my 3 children who love cats. I have always had rescued cats but have always wanted my own Siamese or Burmese. I can not afford to pay thousands and don’t need a perfect show cat just a kitten to love. So if anyone knows where I can find a kitten please let me know. Email tuffekm@botsnet.bw

LUCKY

Lucky was rescued by my husband and a friend while he was running through traffic in a very busy road. Needless to say they caused a big traffic jam (and it was not due to construction!) Lucky then jumped underneath into somebody’s car and after they made the lady aware of the kitten (she thought they wanted to rob her) she stopped and Lucky he was rescued.

Lucky is an 8 week old male marble tabby and has adapted very well to a bed and soft blankets. He is still a bit skittish and needs a bit of TLC.

Magixx the Bengal Needs A Home

Saskia (Bengal) & TC Needs A Home
must go together

He loves the outdoors so we generally leave a window open for him during the day. He can get a little rough with the other cats when he plays with them. He is very vocal and also high strung and single minded in the pursuit of a gecko here or a lizard there. He is very curious and can be quite lovable in his own way. He will be 5 on the 14th July. He is a black and brown Marble Bengal with papers. He is registered as Sagapaw Golden Magixx. He is also neutered.

You can contact Marlise on 082 889 5442 or on marlisekruger@gmail.com  if you need any further information.

Saskia (Bengal) & TC Needs A Home
must go together

TC was inherited from my husband’s father when he passed away. She is very human-like in her personality and she actually listens to what you say and will sometimes even be cheeky and back chat. She will be 8 on the 15th May. She has been spayed.

Saskia. She is the most complicated the three cats. She had an ear infection as a kitten and therefore she is a little ‘special’ in the head and also does not jump to well and is clueless when it comes to directions and gets lost...which is why she is normally only aloud out if she cannot get out of the garden. She has a bit of a head tilt and tends to jump around in circles just cause she can and will walk around tables in a circle for ages. We could never find a reason for this...she just does it. TC and Saskia have a very strong bond as they have spent a lot of time together before we got Magixx. Saskia will be 6 on the 6th of Feb. She is a black and brown spotted tabby Bengal with papers. She is registered as Sagapaw Gold Dream. She has also been spayed.

Black kitten looking for loving home

Menlyn Veterinary Clinic (Tel: 012 460 5252) on Atterbury road.

They have a tiny black kitten, not sure of the exact age but sounds about 6-8weeks to me, that was brought in a week ago by a teacher who apparently confiscated it from a child in her class who was throwing it against the ceiling! (I hope the child/monster and its parents meet with a similar and and/or much worse fate soon!!!) They are now looking for a home for her (think shes a girl) as they dont want to put her down. Perhaps some kind soul could give her the forever home that she deserves. She is apparently very friendly and loving and already house trained despite her young age.

2 DEAR KITTIES

We were given 30 days (ending 12 March 2010) to "remove our pets from the premises" of the townhouse complex. Should I not have found another home for them by then, I will have to take them to the animal welfare (I cannot get myself so far as to take them to the vet to be put down!).

Please find attached the advert I have put up at various venues, and on AlgoaFm classifieds. I would appreciate it if you could send it out to your database, and then pray and hold thumbs that someone will fall in love with them!

Kind regards,

Letitia Strauss

PLEASE HELP! I AM LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME FOR MY 2 DEAR KITTIES. DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES OUT OF MY CONTROL, I AM UNFORTUNATELY NO LONGER ABLE TO KEEP THEM, AND CAN NOT FIND IT IN MY HEART TO HAVE THEM PUT DOWN. I AM DEVASTATED FOR HAVING TO GET RID OF THEM, AND IT WOULD MAKE ME FEEL A LITTLE BIT BETTER IF I AT LEAST KNOW THEY HAVE FOUND ANOTHER HOME WHERE THEY WILL BE LOVED AND CARED FOR. THEY ARE 5-YEAR OLD MALE CATS, WHO HAVE BEEN NEUTERED. THEY HAVE NO “PAPER PEDIGREE”, BUT THEY HAVE LOTS OF CHARACTER AND PERSONALITY, AND PLENTY OF ATTITUDE! THEY ARE VERY LOVING AND SOCIAL CATS, WHO ARE VERY HEALTHY AND IN GOOD CONDITION. THEY ARE ALSO USED TO CHILDREN. IF YOU ARE WILLING AND ABLE TO PROVIDE THEM WITH A NEW HOME, I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH ALL THEIR FOOD BOWLS, TOYS, BRUSH, CAT CARRIER, ETC. I WILL ALSO PROVIDE YOU WITH ENOUGH CAT FOOD FOR 2 MONTHS. I LOVE THEM DEARLY, AND WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM FIND A NEW OWNER WHO WILL LOVE THEM JUST AS MUCH!

KINDLY CONTACT LETITIA ON 0827061245 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.

AZUL & GATO - FINAL APPEAL -
THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL - deadline by Thursday 26th February 2010

THEY HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A HOME SINCE LAST YEAR OCTOBER 2009 ON THE ANIMAL EMAIL NETWORK

THEIR TIME HAS NOW RUN OUT………

PLEASE…….can anyone give them a home together…..
THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL…………deadline by Thursday 26th February 2010

My two cats, Gato and Azul, are still up for adoption and I haven't had any reaction on the ad to date that was placed in mid October last year with Michelle at “Adoptapet”. Gato and Azul are brother and sister, about 9 years old, both sterilized, and annual vaccinations up to date.

I adopted them about 5 years ago when their previous owners moved and the two of them stayed behind. I lived on a farm in KZN then, so they were used to being fairly independent, but they grew more attached and I brought them along when I moved back to Pretoria in 2006.

Over the past 3 years in the city and with closer contact, they've grown accustomed to love and attention and ask for it more.

Also thought I'd give you more information on my situation and why I'm trying to home them.

I am recently engaged and moving in with my Fiance at the End of February who lives in a wildlife estate that does not allow cats. So I will definitely need to home them before then.

I am so sad and disheartened that time has passed so swiftly, yet so empty with no one interested in my 2 beautiful pets. It is now so urgent and I’ve started to consider my other options of “doing the kinder, more loving option of putting them down” if there is no hope of a new home and future for them.

Hope you can help! I want to thank you anyway for what you do, helping people home animals and taking this huge task upon yourself. Being at the other end, having to let go of pets that I love, it's great to have people like you around that are willing to help and that care. I gathered that you do all this in your own time and still have a day job?

Kind regards,
Liesl

Please help sweet Alfie find a home

Hi there

This little guy has been waiting patiently to be adopted since December. Please circulate and help to find him a good home. His photo is attached.

Here's his story:

"My name is Alfie and I have only one wish - to find a good home. My life started out quite rough. I was tiny and scared and hungry and all by myself. If I wasn't rescued I would've ended up being like my mom - a feral cat. Every day would've been a fight to survive. I would've had to eat from dustbins and endure scorn and hostility from humans. I would've been exposed to the blazing heat, the freezing cold and the pouring rain. I'm so lucky to have been rescued. Now I'm just hoping that someone will adopt me. I can't understand why I've been waiting since December. I'm loving, sweet natured, affectionate and playful. Why do people buy cats from breeders and pet stores? I'm sure I'll make just as good a companian.
Every day I hope that it'll be my day to go to my forever home. I've been waiting so patiently, but I'm beginning to feel a bit sad. Please help me find a good home."

If you are interested in making Alfie's wish come true you can go meet him at Cat's 9 Lives in Pretoria. He has already been dewormed and inoculated. For more information contact Avril Cohen on 072 391 5035 or Mia Rademeyer on 082 573 7505. Adoption package applies.

Thanks, Mia

Hi Everyone

These 2 shy little babies of about 9 weeks old, need a home where they will be pampered and given a lot of love.

The girls come from a feral background, but have been fostered by Chris and Cat in order to socialise them into a normal home environment.

If you would like to find out more about them or adopt one of them, please contact me.

Thanks and regards

Two 8 year old Birmans

Two 8 year old Birmans looking for a good loving home. The owner, a German lady, brought them to South Africa but now is returning to live in Germany and says she cannot take them with her. She is currently living in Cape Town.

I have not seen them, nor know the person concerned but received a phone call from her asking to help find a suitable home.

Owner is Doris Goehl - 082 968 4965

Two cats, need to find a home

I have two cats, need to find a home because they causing trouble with my housemates cats, they were first in so little unfair to let my cats chase them away .also unfair to keep mine locked up.
sad to have to see them go:( would love to keep them.

most of the hasle: Cat name: Tex
male, nutted, 2years old
fat white and tabby cat, gorgeous eyes, so loving, forever puring and meowing. talkative. great company, loves all dogs.

Reason: He is very dominant and keeps going into my new house-mate room and disturbing her simese, they keep running away. Deal was that if my cats didn't fit in they found a home.

not really a major hasle: Nougat

male, nutted,3yrs. black and white cat, very sweet, extremely sensitive thinks he is a jack russel, loves small dogs to bits.always in the house waiting for you, follows you everywhere, Would like to try keep him to see if he fits in once his brother is gone, just scared he doesn't or misses his friend. So if the right person comes along to take both or thinks nuggie is for them, to be considered,

Reason: I plan to go over seas soon.

Will be to approved homes only.
both have the same mother, born in a stable yard that i used to ride at.

Help...

 Shhhhhhhhh

I am sneaking an email out to all cat lovers to please HELP!!!! About two years ago my parents brought home a small white cute thing. He is perfect, his eyes the colour of the sky, his coat sparkles in the sun, he is so pretty, he chirps, he growls, he whispers and he is just too damn cute for words..... and I hate him........................and he has got to go! !

The animal behaviourist has been here and subjected me..................ME of all people, to therapy. She prescribed animal Prozac! Profuckingzac!....first for him, then for me, then she made me have 5 beds all around the house and now they all smell like him. She made us do touch therapy, she made us have hormone vaporizers instead of mozzie ones and NOTHING has worked......he even made my parent servants pay dollars to some lady in America to do healing........I mean really, the Bach flower remedies were plenty enough.

To be honest, he is a royal pain in the ass...... so I am now looking for a female servant who has a garden, and obviously loves cats....no, no not for me ...for him!!! He loves trees, and bees and nature things (‘cos he’s a bit of a simple one) and we need enough time to see that he is happy ‘coz if he isn’t he may come back!!

Now the reason for all this is that he is a bit too energetic for me and if he attacks me one more time (ninja style), wanting me play pattacake with him......I will not be held responsible for my actions – I am an old codger who just cannot handle the vibrant little beast!

I have attached 2 pictures of him to prove that he is indeed the offspring of Cindy Crawford and the devil himself. And true Snow bengal.......................whatever!!!!

Yours Mang!

The gorgeous neutered male "Biscuit" (Pta)

My name is "Biscuit".... I was saved from a storm water pipe together with my siblings when I was still a kitten. The kind people of Catpals took care of us and then the three of us got lovely homes...or so I thought.

The people that adopted me from Catpals promised to love and nurture me. While I was still young and cute, they let me inside and now that I am big and love to roam especially at night, I get locked out, come rain, winter or summer. The lady that adopted me when I was a kitten has moved to Johannesburg with her boyfriend and left me with my " grandmother" who sees me as a burden and often threatens to drop me off at the SPCA. She has threatened once again and I am really scared!!

There is a lady in our complex that provides shelter and a hot water bottle for me during Winter times, she also feeds me at night. She would love to take me into her home but her spoilt male cat who chases me at night will not let me into their cozy home.

I am a bit skittish, not really fond of dogs, only little ones that will not chase and harass me....I do believe that I will get on with other cats provided that they are female.

I believe I deserve a second chance, hope you do too??

MAMMA & PEPPER (URGENT END FEB)]

These two stunning kitties urgently need a new home. Brian has put up posters at all the vets in Benoni and at the SPCA, but has had no response. They are leaving for the UK at the end of February 2010.

Please forward their info to all your contacts. Mamma & Pepper’s photos and their live story can be found in the attachment.

If you would like to view or adopt either of these kitties, please contact Brian on 082-6747674.

name is Mamma.
My landlords took pity on me one dark and stormy night and let me in the window out of the inclement weather. It was so warm and cosy I decided to stay and two weeks later I returned their kindness with a lovely present - four beautiful kittens which I dropped in their bedroom cupboard, hence the name. Strangely enough they had me fixed immediately thereafter making it impossible for me to give them any more surprise presents. Tragically, however, three of my offspring were killed by hit-and-run drivers not long afterwards but my single surviving kitten, Pepper, is now seven years old and lives with me to this day. Unfortunately our current landlords are moving overseas soon so we are looking for new ones as soon as possible. It would be great if they could take us both in as we get on exceptionally well together and love each other very much.

My name is Pepper, probably due to my adopted landlords thinking that the pretty colours of my fur in some way resemble the sneezy stuff (?). I’m about seven years old now and they had me fixed shortly after birth – something to do with not wanting any more surprise presents? I’m very close to my mother, Mamma, and we are both very affectionate, homely types, ie we prefer to stay at home 24/7 and not wander around the neighbourhood at all. It would be really nice if we could find a new landlord who could put us both up.

SCARLETT

SCARLETT

This tortoishelle-and-white cat was recently rescued from the Rusthof area where she was literally living on the roof tops and had no shelter. The people living in the area did not want her to be around and continuously chased her out of their homes. Dawie & Yolanda from PetPals frequently visited the area to feed the animals and this poor kitty was always extremely hungry.

PetPals rescued Scarlett (approximately 1 year of age) from this miserable life last week and took her to the vet for a check-up. She was tested for feline aids and leukemia and both tests were negative. PetPals subsequently had her sterilized and she is now in dedicated foster care. Her foster mommy is currently restoring her trust in humans, because Scarlett is still confused after being treated so badly by humans. We really would like to find her a purrrfect forever home where she can feel safe and loved. If anyone is interested in giving this kitty a second chance in life, please call Azanne (073 180 2050) or Yolanda (021 854 6317 / 083 411 0738).

foster/adoptive home in the Johannesburg area

I am looking for a foster/adoptive home in the Johannesburg area for my two dearest cats, Mandy, a 5 year old black female, and Tess, an 8 year old female ginger. I have looked after them for 3 years and now have relocated to CT. Unfortunately I am unable to look after them at the moment but may still be able to take them at a later stage.

They are very shy around people they don't know and are ideally suited to a loving single person/couple with no pets or children. They are used to a flat but a house would also suit. They need to stay together.

I am praying for the right solution! If you are interested please call Michelle on 084 5814860.

BEAUTIFUL XMAS KITTENS - EAST RAND

Please forward a help us find these little Xmas gifts homes.
Apologies - email address removed on forwarding - contact via cell and
landline please.
Thanks
Patti/FORA

Hi Gaynor

I have just spoken to you on the phone about the mom and kittens that my garden boy brought to me. The mother was quite thin and bedraggled when she arrived here, but she is putting on weight quite nicely now. The kittens were plump and well-fed despite their mom being thin. Below are the kittens in question. Their mom is a long-haired white and grey cat, quite small though but with the sweetest personality. I'm assuming the dad must have been a tabby as some of the kittens are tabby.

I live on the East Rand, so if you could please put the word out that there are kittens available, I would really appreciate it. We can afford to keep the mother and one or two of the kittens, but we really can't keep all 6 as they are already costing us a fortune to feed.

I don't want to take them to the SPCA as I'm afraid they are going to euthanize them.

As you can see, we have had some fun with them since they arrived (my friend is studying to be a professional photographer and had a ball with her new models) I have higher resolution photos if you need.

They are all eating solids and are using the litter box with no problems. They have no fleas or tics. According to the garden boy, they were born on the night of the 25th December 2009, so are Christmas kittens. They also get along well with my cocker spaniel, although Kitten 4 is a little wary of him when he gets too excited.

Please don't hesitate to phone me if anything comes up. My cell number is  074 118 5835. They have become so precious to us that we want to see them go to good homes. We don't mind keeping them with us until they get a forever home. We'll somehow make a plan to keep them fed and happy.

Thank you so much for your help and advice.

KITTEN 1 is very adventurous and is an all-round nice kitten. He's not too
quiet or too loud and gets along with everybody.

KITTEN 2 is the drama queen of the bunch. He likes to be heard and seen. He
loves to play and jump about.

KITTEN 3 is a playful character. He loves to curl up on your lap and roll
over for tummy scratches.

KITTEN 4 is a sweet-tempered little girl. She is very reserved and quiet,
but stands up for herself when she is pushed around by her brothers.

KITTEN 5 is a feisty girl. She has such a strong character and plays rough
with all her brothers. She doesn't take nonsense from anybody and can stand
her ground.

KITTEN 6 is the big brother. He is the toughest and strongest out of the
litter. He loves to play wrestling with his siblings. He adores our cocker
spaniel and mews and mews when he is separated from him until they can be
together again.

Ek het op die oomblik 3 katte en 3 honde. Hierdie katjie is pragtig. I am desperate to find a new home for my cat that has been a loving part of my life for 6 years now. She is a very friendly & lovable companion who loves to snuggle up with her owner.

Our family has grown with the addition of some dogs. The first who has been with us since a pup, was initial accepting of Roxy. Now he cannot be in the same proximity without wanting to get a pound of flesh out of her. The second dog who has just joined the family is taking much the same approach to her.

She is no longer at peace in her home, avoiding it most days, due to her fear of the dogs & their consistent attacks on her.

I cannot stand to see her live like this after giving me years of endless love. She deserves better than this!

She has been sterilized. I would love to see her in a home with someone who is keen to have a companion who just wants to share her love with a new owner & be at peace in her surroundings.

We need your help now!

CatPals kitten adoptions have 10 cattens that urgently need to be adopted. We are a no-kill organization and besides, after caring for these darlings for several months we wouldn’t have the heart to put down perfectly healthy, trusting, loving young cats. However, they are growing fast and we cannot keep 10 fully grown cats because (a) we don’t house adults and the sanctuary is full – besides which they are so tame and need homes and (b) we don’t have the space.

I am pleading with our members and other organizations to please try to find adoptive homes as soon as possible.

Dear Friends

I am writing to find a home for our cats. We have two very beautiful Persian x Siamese cats. Both male, both neuted, both stunning brothers. My heart is shattered at the moment – but we have no choice. I moved next door to my parents and as a result, my mother started to feed the cats treats from her left over fish, chicken etc on a regular basis.

After the first few weeks of putting food out, the cats decided that that was way more tasty for them and moved across. This, with a combination of the fact that we then decided to get dogs to add to our pet family as our yard was invaded 3 times by an intruder and we felt at risk. We did everything by the book to introduce the cats and the puppies – but they just took it as a sign to permanently move next door. I eventually – at my mother’s request started to feed them next door too and that was that. They stopped coming home, stopped lying with us at night and just took to their new home. My mother let them use the den and so they thought they had found a solution. But now my mother has decided they are a nuisance as they kill birds, mess up the garden, her patio furniture and are a pain to keep having to look after and feed. (if only she could have seen this from the start – this would never have happened!) So she wants us to get rid of them and even suggested putting them down!!!!

I will not – I am a PRO-LIFER. I tried bringing them home and re-introducing them – it didn’t work, any chance they get they charge for next door. I tried to email friends, facebook appeals and more – but have had no offers. So before taking them to the SPCA – I want to try a cat loving option once again and spread the word out a bit more, before just giving up. They are loving, playful pets and I just know they will go to a good home. But pref one that doesn’t have dogs as the one cat just doesn’t handle it well. He gets stressed and stops eating.

Can you help? Any suggestions or emails sent would be appreciated.

URGENT HOME REQUIRED TOGETHER BY 29TH JANUARY 2010…..

Nicole is getting married and Rudi (her fiance owns a place in a Pet Free Complex) and they cannot afford to sell and buy for the sake of the cats.

Nicole’s Mom has 2 cats already and her complex will not allow her to keep Rusty and Leo either.

I have fostered Leo and Rusty for over 2 months while Nicole was moving back home last year and they are honestly the most relaxed and loveable cats anyone can have around them……

Any queries – you can contact me: Tracy Barrow on 082 4966 470 or Nicole/Rudi on the numbers below this email.

Rusty & Leo are just over 2 yrs old, both sterilized and up to date with all injections.

They are inseperable! Very loving and adorable!

Rusty

Needs lots of attention, strokes, kisses, enjoys being handled. Has the most unique personality that anyone has ever seen!

Has a fascination for open taps, and gets onto and into, ANY bag big or small...he will occupy any space, but most of the time, he gets into one's heart.

Healthy appitite, eats anything! (Sweets incl!) Still very energetic, used to the indoors, but enjoys adventures on the outside.

Leo (Ginger)

Leo, a once abandoned kitten, is shy but will cry for attention, and once given, he turns into the most adorable floppy kitten, rolling and purring like a mad thing!

Not a big eater. Loves flowers! Pulls off the petals as if doing the "She loves me, she loves me not" excercise!

Both cats are placid yet playfull, they have been together since 2 months old.

We are moving into a pet free complex, and would really like to see Rusty & Leo go to a good loving home, and get the same care that we are giving them.

Nicole & Rudi.

Late Mrs Taylor’s angels were all very traumatized when she passed away + were left with somebody who threatened to eutinaze them + were flown Durban to Jhb + lived with Teresa (Mrs Taylor’s daughter) + Nina came to me, the Meses were adopted for 3 days when Susie was lost for 4 weeks and Smokey was at a vet for a week before coming to me. The ideal owner will have to be loving, patient and keep them indoors for some time:-

Smokey – sterilized small female sealpoint Siamese, 3 years old. Very playful and chatty, but won’t allow anyone to pick her up yet, still skittish.

Susie – sterilised small female sealpoint Siamese, 6 years old and Smokey’s Mommy. Starting to chat and venture out from hiding places, still skittish.

Nina – sterilized tall female Havana (brown Oriental), 9 years old. Playful, affectionate, murmurs, purrs and sleeps on the bed at night.

Sammy, the strawberry blond, crossed Norwegian Forest Cat – 8 months old, sterilized male, rescued from UNISA. Playful, allows the odd stroking and has started sleeping closer to one on the bed and couch. Timid and shy.

Nyala, the black tortie, crossed Burmese – 6 years old, sterilized female’s owner lost her home. Very affectionate, chatty and playful. Loves to lounge around on her back.

brother and sister

Dear Madam,

Do you think you would be able to assist me in finding a home for two rescued cats. They found me while on holiday down the south coast at the beginning of October. First one came out of the bush, skin and bone and tail up so I rushed off and bought food. The following day she arrived with her brother, so I rushed of and bought more food. The third day they arrived with another little female heavily pregnant. I told my husband I would not leave without them so we cut our holiday short and with the help of the local SPCA brought them all back to Johannesburg in a laundry basket.

The mom has had her kittens and I found homes for all of them. I am going to keep her as she is deformed and has half a tail.

The other two, brother and sister and beautiful. Long slender legs and body. I have named them "Whiskey" and "Soda" and they know their names. Obviously being semi feral they will need lots of space. Unfortunately I live in a complex and I know if they get out they will get lost. I really would love to find somebody who will spend as much time with them as I have and get them acclimatised to their surroundings before letting them go. The little girl is a real flirt and the little boy is very serious. He had a terrible wound right through his jaw so has a bad start to life. It has been cleaned and healed perfectly. I am able to get really close but it will take a very long time for anybody to touch them.

Do you think you can help. I will deliver them anywhere in South Africa as long as it is to a loving home. I will pay for any adverts. Just tell me what to do to find them a loving home.

I would appreciate any help or advice.

Kind regards,
Val Guareschi.

Gentle white girl cat needs home because of owner's illness (Jo'burg?)

Dear friends,

As many of you know, my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer earlier this year and it is now at a stage where she will need to leave her home and get 24 hour medical care:( She unfortunately can not take her darling little cat and companion, which is even more devastating to her.

I need to find Yodi a wonderful new home so my mother can have some solace and Yodi will be dearly loved as my mother loves her.

It is impossible for me as my 7 dogs will make an aperitif out of her!

She is about 6 or 7 and is very shy, she will fit in best in a quiet home without other pets.

Please help me find a home for this little girl, she will be a loving companion as she has been to my mother

Please send to all you know

Much love, always

female adult tabby cat approx 1 yr old & 4 tabby kittens 8 weeks old

I have one female adult tabby cat approx 1 yr old & 4 tabby kittens 8 weeks old , 3 females & 1 male, looking for good homes in Port Elizabeth

Female adult was spayed on 04/01/2010 and the kiitens have had their first vaccinations & been dewormed on 09/01/2010.

This cat is a stray who started coming into the house to steal my existing cats food and a week later woke up one morning to find she had had a litter of kittens in the house. Unfortunately I have two old cats of my own which she constantly fights with resulting in that my cats are now confined to our bedroom.

Ginger Kitty Needs a New Loving Home.

Male teenage kitty, about 5 months old. Very loveable and playful.

I live on a large property and seem to attract all the stray kittys from our estate.

This little ginger kitty made himself right at home and joined our family, but now with regret I have to move to a smaller property and I can’t keep him as I have 5 cats already. I am hoping to find him a loving home.

Looking for homes for 3 animals

Hi guys!

My friend Susie does not have much luck with husbands!

Roland (husband # 2) died November 08, the house has been sold and the new owners will be moving in at the end of the month. The maid has been looking after Halle (a very nervous female Dalmatian) since Roland’s death as Susie lives in Spain. Esna and Halle have to leave the premises and Halle has no loving home to go to – any leads you can offer?

Then, Susie remarried in September 09 and very sadly, after 11 weeks of marriage, husband # 3 died suddenly of cardiac arrest. He has 2 Burmese cats (mother & daughter, I think) and since that house will be sold in due course, these 2 babies will need a home (they come as a package). The maid is currently looking after them. Any ideas of homes for these 2 kitties?

I’m really hoping you know of a saviour for these animals...

Kind regards

Mom cats and kittens desperate for homes! - Kwazulu Natal

I'd like to introduce you to some of our mom cats and their kittens (all approx 10-12 weeks old) who are looking for homes in the hopes that you know someone who could take them in. This tabby mom came from a warehouse at the harbour. Her kitten is a very playful black and white boy. Mom is very laid back

Gina and her baby (female) belonged to a destitute couple living in Montclair. One of our volunteers provided food for their animals, but they were evicted and had to give them up. They are both silver tabbies and are very affectionate

Mom and baby (female) were abandoned at TAFTA park when the kitten was just born. They are very sweet and affectionate with each other and love attention

This pretty pale tabby mom has 2 daughters (approx 9 months old) who are a bit skittish with people but adore their mom. Mom is very friendly and loving. Mom could go to a home on her own or they could go as a family to a stable situation
