CFSA (The Cat Federation of Southern Africa)

The Cat Federation of Southern Africa is a voluntary federation in existence for the purpose of co-ordinating all aspects relating to the Cat Fancy in Southern Africa. It has been formed on the basis of the highest moral and ethical principles as a service to answer the needs of Southern African cat breeders and fanciers.

The principle of the Federation is to work within the objectives of the Cat Fancy and not to upset the rights of others to achieve their objectives.

SACC (The Southern Africa Cat Council)

* Promote the welfare of cats and the improvement of their breeds.
* Administer the registration of pedigrees of cats and kittens.
* Promulgate the rules of the management of cat shows.
* Promote interest of breeders and exhibitors of cats.
* Ensure the efficient co-existence of its Councils and offices.
* Promulgate rules, regulations and codes of ethics.
* Lay down standards for all Breeds in conjunction with member Clubs, the Breed Council and the S.A. Council of Cat Judges.
* Promote a knowledge of Cats and Breed Standards by investigating or to assist in investigations to ensure that the breeding of cats and the showing of cats are according to the highest standards.
* Train or to assist in training of persons for the breeding, judging, show managing and stewarding of cats.

Maine Coon Interest Group
The MCIG (SA) prides itself in trying to ensure that Maine Coon cats are bred for the improvement of the breed and not just for money. To assist with this, all Breeder Members of the MCIG (SA) sign a Breeder's Code of Ethics. Our breeders page lists all Maine Coon breeders who have signed this Code of Ethics.
