These are my two ‘children’, brother and sister combination, Joshua & Jami. I adopted them as 12-year olds, and we have had the most wonderful three ‘and a bit’ years together. They are of no special breed (although I see so much Siamese in them, especially when they sit and snooze in the early morning sun. Their heads are normally gently tilted to one side, and the amount of Siamese is startling) but we have bonded so, that they are part of my life – like real children. I will even leave a dinner or a party early because of them!

They are unlike cats that I have know; their natures remind me more of dogs as they are super friendly, seek attention continuously, will lick you to death and are never far from me. They dislike being on their own. I made the decision when they came to live with me, that they would be indoor cats as I do not trust other humans that I don’t know. They do have a nice garden to go out in to with high walls (I have a townhouse) but they do not wonder into the general complex. Some may think this a bit cruel, but I firmly believe they have got to this age and stage in life, because of this care. They adapted quickly – they have toys & playthings, and once we got the idea that night time is ‘doo-doo’ time and not roaming time, we were all fine! Don’t you think they look good for 15 years of age….? In the one picture, you will see Josh loves to have his neck scratched 🙂

I would never have thought two cats would become so dear to me! I am privileged to share my life and home with them.

Thank you for a wonderful site. – Johannesburg
