What is Equine Fly Repellant?

Flies can be a terrible nuisance to both horse and rider. But they are not the sole culprits. Other troublesome insects include Blackflies (that favor the ears, and can also target other areas), Horseflies (ambush your horse anywhere on the body), Mosquitoes (favor hot, humid and swampy locations), Houseflies (target your horse’s eyes) and Sandflies (tend to swarm around your horse’s neck, mane and tail). There is a lot that can be done naturally to discourage flies and bugs. Clean your horse’s eyes regularly and use a face mask whenever possible. If your horse is not a show horse, do not clip your horse’s ears. Hair will provide a light barrier as opposed to virtually hairless clipped ears. You can also use ear nets – your horse will likely appreciate the barrier, but if ears must be left exposed you can also apply natural topical creams to your horse’s ears.

EQuine Fly Repellant is a concentrated spray (to be diluted) to help discourage flies and bugs. EQuine Fly Repellant may be used on the spot as needed – or it can be used regularly in a maintenance program to help keep horses from being ‘bothered’. EQuine Fly Repellant contains absolutely no parabens, sodium laurel sulphate or harmful petrochemicals, and can be applied easily, with no mess or fuss!

EQuine Fly Repellant contains the following 100% pure essential oils especially selected to support skin health and the natural healing ability of the body: Tagetes minuata (Khaki Bos), Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Citronella

Directions:

Add 5 drops to 500ml water in a spray bottle and shake well before use. Spray all over coat avoiding the eye area, with special attention to the tail. May be repeated up to three times daily.

Caution:

Safety during pregnancy and nursing has not been established. For external use only. Keep this and all essential oils out of reach of children. May also be used on dogs, but NEVER ON CATS.
