Kitty Heaven

| January 25, 2012

Koenie, you are sadly missed! Luckily I have half of you in your son Harry, if he’s half the cat you are he’ll be awesome!

Cat Name: Koenie Boenie aka Coonus Boonus Maine Coonus!
Owners Name: Jennifer Steyn

You were the best cat ever with the greatest personality and we will really miss you. You were always there for us and always knew how to cheer us up, even in the darkest hours(literally at 4am).

I suppose with life, comes death, and I believe that God picks the best flowers for his garden. And you were definitely one of the brightest flowers.

We will miss you and you will always be in our hearts. Love you lots!

Having just returned from a short holiday I looked forward the most to fetch Loki, my Maine Coon girl, at the cattery. She was a bit confused at first but when she recognised her home from the car she was excited and talked to me for a long time about leaving her there. We had a nice normal Friday at home and that night she slept as usual next to me. She woke me early to give me a cat cuddle and then when for her early morning rounds. She came back at 7am and again gave me a cat cuddle – glad to be back at home with her Mom.

Saturday afternoon I was watching a movie and she was on my lap sleeping. She was cuteness bottled and I always loved to admire her when she was sleeping. I gave her dinner at 4, did some work and had my dinner. At 8 I went into my house and called for her. I looked towards the street and saw a shape like hers in the street. I ran over, opened the gate and immediately recognised her. She had been run over. When I got to her I could immediately see that she was dead. The street was littered with her hairballs and her head full of blood. A reckless driver ran over her and did not even brake or stop to see what damage he caused. A quiet residential street was used as his own racecourse and he did not care about the pain he caused.

Now I have to face life without my special girl. I have had many pets in my childhood, but this was my first pet in 15 years. She owned me and was treated like a princess. Cuteness bottled, she had such a gentle way. She bought so much joy and laughter into my life. As a singleton over 35 she was my child. I work from home and she got attention all the time.

I chose to let her roam outside. We have a lovely garden and she had so much fun climbing trees and hiding in the underbrush for a surprise attack. Most of the time she chose to stay on the yard, but once a day she visited the neighbor to give some love there too. Many people chose to keep their cats indoors to prevent this sort of accident, but for me it seemed too cruel. I know she was happy with her freedom and adventures.

For now all I can do is cry and try to adjust to life without her comfort. Loki, you were a very special cat and made a huge difference in my life. I will miss you terribly.

(Loki was Kittycat cat of the month a few months ago)

Yemma, the little light in our lives who left without us having a chance to say goodbye. We miss you more and more as the days go bye. You touched our hearts in such a special way for 6 months. My dear Sebastian boy, I am so sorry I wasn’t there when it happened. You never were afraid of cars, and humans are always in such a hurry! I just wish I could have been there to comfort you in the end. There will never be another cat like you! I miss you so much! I will always love you so very much! I am so sorry my boy!

Meep, affectionately known as The Meepster, went home 20 January 2007.

Rescued from abandonment, you came to me as a tiny little scrap of fur with the sweetest pansy face. You grew into a very special little lady, a one in a million friend, full of love and always ready to play. Everyone who met you adored you!

You made my house a home, always waiting to greet me with your little Meep kisses.

Every book I read, you were there in my lap. Every word I typed or game I played, you were on the desk watching me. Every cup of coffee I made, you oversaw. You guarded my dreams every night, kept me warm in winter, kissed me when I was sad, spoke to me when I was lonely.

Thank you for 12 years of fun, companionship and unconditional love.

I will always treasure the time spent with you, my honey. You were one of the few bright things in my life, and I will miss you always. I am sure that you are warm and safe in Heaven.

I love you so much. Love you forever.

My little angel Snipper. You were with me for one short year when I needed you the most. With your partially unseeing little blue eyes you looked right into my heart and were always there when I needed you. At 1.4kg you were more of a comfort than any other human hug. I miss you dearly and will always remember you with love. I hope there is lots of lavender in heaven for you to run
and play in.

Our Precious Girl, ‘Kitty Cat’

1983 – 16 March 2007

The moment we first saw you,
So lonely and so lean
We wondered to ourselves that day,
What sadness you had seen.

As soon as we connected,
It’s almost like you knew-
That we would love you always
Through the good
And bad times too.

It broke our hearts to say goodbye to you, our girl, today
You will be in our thoughts all the time
Until we meet again.

Kitty Cat, you have been a part of our lives for the last 24 years. Thank you for all your love and affection. We will miss you so much.

All our love Mom, Dad, Pikkie and Whiskey

No heaven will not ever Heaven be
Unless my cats are there To welcome me

They say memories are golden, well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories, I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you, a million times I cried.

If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place, no one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane,
I’d walk the path to heaven and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again.

Gambit my baby boy you are missed every single day and will be missed every day to come until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. Wait for me while you play with Benjamin, you are both healthy now. The tears I cry are for the love I have for you, the pain that I feel is missing you, seeing your face when I call you Gambibits how you would run to me and in your short life and final days how you just wanted to be close to me. I love you and miss
you so much.

My Little Angel

We rescued you from the dustbin at work, and took you home and fed and loved you. You were with me for such a short while, but please know that I love and miss you so much. You didn’t even get a chance to see who your new mommy was because your eyes weren’t open yet. At least I know you loved me, because even though you were so small, you still tried to give me a purr whenever I held or fed you. I love you! Caitlin and Tom will miss you too – Tom thought you were his baby brother! Caitlin is very sad but she knows that you are with your other sibling now and happy in Heaven with Jesus to look after you!

You will be missed by us all!
Love Pam (mommy), Clinton (daddy) and your little sister Caitlin and brother Tom.

Angel – born 25/9/2006 died 3/10/2006

Vlooi, Was taken away from us so sudden on the 20th of September 2006. We have loved you so much, you were like one of the children. You were a real cat with personality, and loved cuddling with your Daddy, and in winter loved getting under the duvet with us. We will miss you, and Abby is also longing for you. Hope you are happy in Kitty Heaven, at least you had the best life any cat can ask for while with us for the six years.

May you rest in peace.
Love

Soraya

Born 16 September 1991
Died 10 November 2006

Soraya was selected from breeders in Bethal. From the beginning, it was obvious that she was a very special cat. She followed me around all over. I even had to put on make-up with her draped around my neck and when it was cold, I carried her inside my winter gown. I looked very pregnant and she was very pleased with herself.

She looked after me all the time. I used to work from home and she would warn me when someone was at the gate, even before they could ring the bell. A better watchdog could not be found.

Soraya was also a heroin and saved our family from certain harm.|

During September 2000, at about eleven at night, she got off the bed where she slept with us. She made the most horrible noise sand my husband got up to investigate. We though that a foreign cat might have entered the house, but when my husband got to the passage, he saw two robbers inside our house.

The one was gathering electronic stuff in the TV room, but the other one was on his way to our bedroom, and that was when Soraya warned us. When the robbers heard the noise and saw my husband, they ran off and left all our stuff.

If Soraya did not warn us in time, I shudder to think what might have happened to us. She was a real life-saver and deserved to spend her old-age in luxury – and we treated her like a heroin until the day she died of old age.

There will never be another cat like her, although we enjoy Tsunami and Suki, but they will never take her special place.

Cooki – Whom I found as I kitten and nurtured her, until she was old enough to get spayed, and gave her to Mirinda, who was going to look after her, and well unfortunately, she was killed when someone drove over her, thereby ending her life.

And I will be forever saddened and will miss her always, as she was my special cat…. which I loved so much..

You were our special bouncy baby cat, but we had to stop your suffering. Now in kitty heaven you can have all the milk and mice to your heart’s content. You will always be in our hearts.

The Last Battle
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this — the last battle — can’t be won.

You will be sad I understand,
But don’t let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy days,
You wouldn’t want me to suffer so.

When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where my needs they’ll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don’t grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;

We’ve been so close — we two — these days,
Don’t let your heart hold any tears.

— Unknown

Benjamin, my little fighting boy, you had such a will to live, after being tormented by being a feral and collapsing to becoming the most loving and trusting angel that you were. You were taken away too soon, you deserved to know all the love that I could have given you but I know that at least you did get to know love right until the end. I love you and I will forever miss you. You will always be in my heart.
