Soraya was selected from breeders in Bethal. From the beginning, it was obvious that she was a very special cat. She followed me around all over. I even had to put on make-up with her draped around my neck and when it was cold, I carried her inside my winter gown. I looked very pregnant and she was very pleased with herself.
She looked after me all the time. I used to work from home and she would warn me when someone was at the gate, even before they could ring the bell. A better watchdog could not be found.
Soraya was also a heroinee and saved our family from certain harm.|
During September 2000, at about eleven at night, she got off the bed where she slept with us. She made the most horrible noises and my husband got up to investigate. We though that a foreign cat might have entered the house, but when my husband got to the passage, he saw two robbers inside our house.
The one was gathering electronic stuff in the TV room, but the other one was on his way to our bedroom, and that was when Soraya warned us. When the robbers heard the noise and saw my husband, they ran off and left all our stuff.
If Soraya did not warn us in time, I shudder to think what might have happened to us. She was a real life-saver and deserved to spend her old-age in luxury ‚Äď and we treated her like a heroine until the day she died of old age.
There will never be another cat like her, although we enjoy Tsunami and Suki, but they will never take her special place.
